Summary of Part Time Neurologist Position: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Neurologist to join WIHD on a flexible schedule and work either one, two or three days per week. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Neurologist and be committed to providing exceptional collaborative patient care. Your expertise will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our adult patient with intellectual and development disabilities. This position will refer patients for necessary testing and to primary care and specialty clinics when appropriate, convey health related information to patients and their caregivers and practice evidence-based medicine.
About Us: WIHD is dedicated to providing comprehensive health services and medical specialties to individuals with developmental disabilities in Westchester and beyond. Our offerings include primary care, behavioral health resources, cardiology, podiatry, and comprehensive dental care.
Essential Functions:
- Provides neurologic care, establishes and implements a treatment plan. Documentation should be exclusively in the EMR at the time of each visit, utilizing the requirements for meaningful use. As part of the treatment team, will see patients as per the appointment schedule and as an urgent add-on;
- Review labs, medication lists, radiology and consultation reports, and any other patient data. Document relevant results and action taken;
- Communicate with patients and their caregivers for the purpose of patient care. In addition, communicate and interact with patients' other practitioners at WIHD or outside, to provide comprehensive care;
- Participate in staff training. Supervising residents, students and other trainees
Education, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:
Kind and Length of Experience: Minimum of three years experience as an attending physician in outpatient setting. Preferred experience caring for individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities (I/DD). Medical documentation required by Medicare/Medicaid to support billing and meaningful use.
Education Level: Graduation from an accredited medical school and residency program in Neurology. Possession of a license to practice medicine in New York State. Board certification in neurology.
