Full Salary Range: $41.43 - $52.55/Hourly. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Under the general direction of the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Supervisor and in accordance with standardized procedures, provides primary ambulatory care, as part of the Student Health Services health care team. Assesses health status: evaluates and manages illnesses or injuries; provides initial psychological evaluation; promotes wellness, disease prevention and health education; coordinates appropriate follow-up care, referrals and case management. May serve on health center committees. Provides input for continuous improvement of services. Understands the principles of practicing as a Patient-Centered Medical Home and the importance of the primary care provider in the delivery of high quality patient care.

This job posting is for a Part-Time (80% time, 4 days per week) Partial Year Career Nurse Practitioner position.

*A Partial Year Career appointment is established to accommodate foreseeable seasonal fluctuations in staffing, operational, or other needs and contains regularly scheduled furlough periods during which the incumbent remains an employee and retains health benefits, but is not at work. The Nurse Practitioner's furlough period is for 4 weeks in the summer and is unpaid time off.

Some special conditions include:

Selected Candidate will be required to pass a pre hire criminal history background check and a pre hire credentialing check prior to formal job offer.

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.

Current State of California Registered Nurse license, in good standing.

Current State of California Nurse Practitioner license in good standing and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.

Board Certified as a Nurse Practitioner.

Possession of Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number (NPF).

Must complete HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accessibility Act) Training within 30 days of hire.

Must possess or obtain Cardiopulmonary (CPR) Certificate within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications include:

Three or more years of post-training experience in providing outpatient primary care management to adults including both medical and psycho social assessments and treatments.

Excellent written and oral communication skills; excellent listening skills; ability to receive and give clear and concise information.

Demonstrated competency in working on a multidisciplinary team.

Demonstrated flexibility and organizational skills with ability to prioritize a high-volume workload, and work independently under time pressures with minimal supervision.

Ability to work on several tasks concurrently with frequent interruptions; ability to maintain concentration in a fast-paced environment.
