An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required.
*Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, professional health care staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal communications/interactions.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
*Ability to effectively manage critical patient population within highly functioning team.
*Must take On-Call assignment (arrival at UI Hospitals & Clinics within 20 minutes required).
*Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required by start date.
*Current certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required start date.
*Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by start date.
*Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification desired.
*One (1) year Adult Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Telemetry, ER and/or ICU RN experience; or completion of cardiovascular services, ER or ICU internship (within last 12 months) desired.
*Three (3) years of Adult Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience (within last 12 months) highly desired.
*If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program desired.
*EKG monitor interpretation, recognition of pressure waveforms, knowledge of sterile techniques and comprehensive knowledge of the cardiovascular system desired.
*Previous EPIC experience desired.Knowledge of University policies and procedures desired.
